GEA - SAG Episode 541: Ghosts Can’t Fall Down

The SAG Cartoon Express makes a stop in Pac-Land

Show Notes

On this week’s podcast, Dan, Kris, and Dean board the Cartoon Express for a trip to Pac-Land! They watched the classic Pac-Man cartoon episode Sir Pac-a-Lot. How did it go? And how did they rank all the cartoons they’ve watched so far this year? Why are can openers so funny? What’s up with all the hats? Let’s find out!
At the top of the show, Dean’s been playing something called Deep Rock Galactic Survivor, which sounds like way too many words to be real. Meanwhile, Dan dives deeper into the world of the Pokemon Trading Card game, and spends some quality time with Pacific Drive, which is NOT the same thing as Pacific Rim. Kris, on the other hand, is obsessed with Ode to Castlevania, wildly unimpressed by Hatch Tales, and notices some fun new updates to his Atari VCS. Finally, in Week Old News, Monster Hunter becomes a shampoo, Phil Spencer spouts some nonsense about the Xbox’s new ad campaign, Blaster Master makes its way to the Super NES, and more!

GEA - SAG Episode 540: You Should Get a Goat

Dean stops by to talk about video game magazines

Show Notes

On this week’s podcast, Dan and Kris were joined by Dean to talk about the state of video game information. How did we used to get our gaming news in the days before the internet? And once the internet took hold, which sites were the ones that helped us get our information? It’s a fun trip down memory lane, and one filled with pages and pages of screenshots, codes, and more.
At the top of the show, the guys talk a lot about who they’ve been keeping calm and carrying on in these trying times. There’s lots of fun nostalgic talk of old magazines, websites, YouTube channels, podcasts, and more. What fun!
Finally, in Week Old News, Doom gets up and running on alarmo, there’s a strange connection between Metal Gear and The Little Mermaid, Pokemon makes a lot of money, and more!

GEA - DC's Amazing Movie Time - 30 Days of Night

Episode Notes

Where do Vampires go on for an all-inclusive vacation? Well this movie makes it northern Alaska when the sun never rises. Does this movie suck and not in the blood-from-the-neck kind of way?

The Alphabet Soup-er Series gets cubed with Q*Bert

Show Notes

On this week’s podcast, Dan and Kris bring you the Alphabet Soup-er Series! This month’s letter was Q, and Kris went with Q*Bert for PlayStation and Dreamcast. How much is there really to talk about with this one? How weird is the ending? Why are eye twitches funny? Let’s find out! At the top of the show, Dan’s been a little out of sorts this week, so he didn’t have much time for gaming. Kris, on the other hand, spent a little more time with Zelda, and tried out the new Vampire Survivors DLC, which is fantastic. Finally, in Week Old News, Sony kills the Concord studio, along with any hopes of the game ever making any sort of profit, The Oregon Trail gets the Barbie treatment, Castlevania gets a crazy box set and a musical, Super Mario Bros. gets a Game Boy Color makeover, and more!

GEA - SAG Episode 538: You Are Not a Hairdresser

Probably a lot more baseball than you were expecting

Show Notes

On this week’s podcast, Dan and Kris tackle the October 10 20 30 40, and what a month it was. Once again, the PlayStation 2 has a number of massive hits on its hands, but the 16-bit console war heated up quite a bit as well. What platform had the best October? Let’s find out!
At the top of the show, Dan gets more good news about his treatments, but is consistently distracted throughout the night thanks to the Yankees in the World Series. He also played the new Rocky Horror game, Splatterhouse, and ate some seriously sub-par grapes. Meanwhile, Kris continued to enjoy Zelda and tolerate Hatch Tales, while rekindling his love for the Game Boy Color classic Super Mario Bros. Deluxe. Finally, in Week Old News, Dan and Kris try their hand at color commentary as the Yankees went into extra innings, the NSO playtest isn’t what anyone expected (and leaks almost immediately), Ubisoft continues to insist Beyond Good & Evil is going to happen, Aero the Acrobat gets physical for some reason, and more!
