On this week’s podcast, Dan and Kris got to sit down and talk with Andréas and Niklas from Bitwave about Gimmick 2! It was a fascinating interview, and they were very grateful to have them on. They answered all manner of questions regarding how the game came to be, how it differs from the NES classic original, how they scored David Wise for the soundtrack and a whole lot more.
At the top of the show, Dan got to play UFO50, the fascinating new game from some of the minds behind Spelunky, while Kris got to pull food bits out of his kid’s mouth because braces are fun! He also got to try out Ufouria 2,which is just as charming and weird as its predecessor. Sunsoft is BACK!
Finally, in Week Old News, Sony continued to be the source of all manner of bad news, while also outselling the Xbox almost 3 to 1, Nintendo Switch 2 rumors continue to swirl like mad, Mega Man joins Brawlhalla for some reason, and more. Enjoy!
Show Notes This time in A Theater Near You, the team watched Look Who’s Talking, a movie about a talking baby with telepathy? Maybe? It’s got some pretty wild visual effects, John Travolta dancing, Kristie Alley enjoying accounting, and more! What’s not to love?

On this week’s podcast, Dan, and Kris intended to talk about the Dreamcast celebrating its 25th anniversary, but got completely derailed by the announcement of the PS5 Pro and the general state of gaming. How on earth did we get to the point of selling a completely unnecessary mid-generation upgrade for $700? Who is this for?
At the top of the show, Dan finally puts some time in with his Steam Deck, and details how that all works. Both of the guys got to dive into Gimmick 2 as well, which seems to be a worthy followup, at least so far.
Finally, in Week Old News, Sony raises their prices and removes Concord from everyone’s systems, Spelunky gets an official Commodore 64 port, Microsoft indulges in even more layoffs, and Annapurna gets ditched. Enjoy!

On this week’s podcast, Dan, Dean, and Kris talk about Season 2, episode 5 of the unbelievably terrible Donkey Kong Country cartoon, Message in a Bottle Show. There are so many questions ranging to why some characters have blue tongues, where King K Rool’s cape and tail went, and what exactly is going on with Cranky Kong’s balls. Seriously, none of us were prepared for this episode. It was so very bad.
At the top of the show, Kris once again gets in a fight with his electric company, but manages to spend some time enjoying Yars Rising and Cash Cow DX, while rewatching Dragon Ball. Dean didn't do a whole lot more gaming, but he did manage to give some impressions of a game called Star Trucker, and Dan finally shaved his head, but his beard remains more majestic than most. He also got a super nice care package from our friends at the Weekend Rental podcast!
Finally, in Week Old News, Concord gets pulled just two weeks after its launch, leading to pretty passionate discussion about the state of PlayStation, especially when contrasting Concord’s failure with Astro Bot’s success. Xbox finally gets the new Capcom fighting collections, while the black Myth Wukong mystery continues, and some guy makes a metric ton of money defrauding music streaming services. Enjoy!
Show Notes For Kris’s pick this month, he chose the NES sequel Ninja Gaiden II: The Dark Sword of Chaos. Does this followup live up to the lofty reputation of its predecessor? Let’s find out!
