On this week’s podcast, Dan and Kris finally catch up on the Alphabet Soup-er Series. It was Dan’s pick for the letter V, and he went with the GameCube classic Viewtiful Joe. How does this movie themed action game stand the test of time? What does HMD stand for? Why does Joe look like nerdy Fred Durst? Let’s find out!
Then, in Week Old News, Nintendo gets unsurprisingly litigious, Ecco is making a comeback that might be linked to the Amico, and EA is being slightly… not evil?
Finally, in The Checkpoint Dan gives an update on Tiff’s condition, and gives his final impressions of South of Midnight, while Kris gets a new weed wacker and tries his hand at Shotgun Cop Man.
Enjoy!

On this week’s podcast, Dan and Kris board the Cartoon Express for a very strange episode of Mortal Kombat: Guardian of the Realms. This cartoon was surprisingly watchable in comparison to a handful of other things they’ve watched, but was it good enough to take the top spot for the year? Why the heck is Ron Perlman voicing Stryker? Why the heck is Stryker in this show in the first place? Let’s find out!
Then, in Week Old News, Limited Run Games gets itself in a whole heap of trouble. The 3DS leaves the Louvre, GTA VI shifts its date, and more!
Finally, in The Checkpoint (it has a name now!) Dan and Kris once again had busy weeks. Dan is still really enjoying South of Midnight, while dealing with some fresh health issues in his house. (Don't worry, he’s fine). Meanwhile, Kris had an epic battle with UPS, rediscovered his love of Rogue Squadron II, and more!
Enjoy!
On this month’s episode of This Week’s Episode, Angie takes us back to school with the first 2 episodes of Abbot Elementary. Karen wants to talk about Daredevil again, but we say no, so she chats about Scrubs. Kris shares Voltron with his son, Evan catches up on Invincible and Angiel keeps going back to I Love Lucy. All this and so much more!
At the edge of the Sandler-verse is a strange world where Rob Schneider plays the normal guy in a film. The rest of the cast? About as far as normal as possible... But can they defeat literal children at baseball? Does it matter or do we care? Why? Who made this?
On this week’s podcast, Dana nd Kris tackle a very interesting 10 20 30 40. PS2 once again had a killer month, but could the Xbox finally claim a victory? Also, Mortal Kombat 3 and Paperboy hit arcades, The Sega CD has a surprisingly solid month, the GameCube has one of its worst months ever, and more! .
Then, in Week Old News, Outrun and Split/Fiction are the next games to get movie adaptations, Paul Rudd returns to the 90s for an excellent Switch 2 commercial, Oblivion is here, and more!
Finally, Dan and Kris both had busy weeks, but still managed to spend some quality time with Wonder Boy: The Dragon’s Trap, some classic Mario Kart games, and Kris regails us all with the tale of him getting a Switch 2 pre-order.
Enjoy!
Show Notes
For Kris’s pick, he went with the piano rock stylings of Ben Folds Five!

On this week’s podcast, Kris was feeling a bit under the weather, so they delayed talking about Viewtiful Joe in favor of doing something easier. Except that ranking every Nintendo franchise that’s not on Switch is WAY HARDER than talking about Viewtiful Joe! So yeah, buckle up for that marathon of nonsense.
Then, in Week Old News, Nintendo finally opens pre-orders for Switch 2 in North America, and increases the prices of its accessories. Speaking of price increases, Sony made the PS5 more expensive again, too.
Finally, Dan’s been playing a bunch of stuff from a Humble Bundle, particularly Gato Roboto, which is excellent. Meanwhile, some nice folks did something really nice for Kris, while he worked himself to death, and played a few more minutes of Paper Mario.
Enjoy!
